Profile Information

I'm ...
A wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loves family, life, and writing, I write because I must.

I was born in Texas many years ago, talking according to my parents. My vivid imagination created stories I shared with siblings and friends. Once I learned to write, poetry and stories appeared on paper. By the time I was in my 20s, stories, poetry, and articles appeared in local, regional, and even national publications.

In time, I finished two young adult novels. Having a grandson who's a reluctant reader and not being able to find books that might interest him, I decided to write The Base Stealers Club and then Case of the Missing Coach. Since the books were released, teachers have told me that girls as well as boys are interested in the books.

Once illustrations are finished, Louie the Duck's Adventure, a picture book for readers up to 3rd grade, will be published.

I didn't have enough to do, and wanted to help fill the gap between self-publishing/subsidy publishing and the major publishing houses. With the help of a few friends and family members, 4RV Publishing LLC was born. The company works one on one with its authors and has high editorial standards for its books.

Writer and Publisher

As an author of children's and young adult books as well as other genre and as a publisher, I straddle the fence between two homes.

Everyone can read about me at my personal web site: Vivian Gilbert Zabel and about our publishing company at 4RV Publishing LLC.

Our publishing company is traditional in that we pay royalties, edit manuscripts thoroughly, and have contracts with our authors and illustrators. We aid authors with marketing and promotion for at least the first year the title is out. We don't take books off the market if they aren't selling as fast as we would like. We work with our authors on a one to one basis.

Current covers from 4RV
Some are children's or young adult books, some are other genre.

Trockle has his own blog

Trockle, the little monster in the book by Holly Jahangiri and illustrated by Jordan M. Vinyard, started a blog of his own. He would like people to visit and maybe leave a message for him.

Hi Vivian,
I am new to all this. I'm just stumbling around trying to figure out how to get my book out to the public.
Wish I had your knowledge of marketing!

Thanks. Jordan is a very talented artist in her own right outside of illustrating. 4RV is fortunate to have her on staff. I just hope we don't overwork her. We have added a couple of more illustrators this past week, though, which will help.
