As of Saturday, my manuscript was sent to the printers. Barring any problems, Vivian should have a proof back in the next week and a half to two weeks and once the proof is approved, then its ordering time for Viv and another week to two waiting for the books to arrive. It seems like things are moving fast but in reality from the time the book was submitted to Vivian and by the time we get the book in hand, the process is just about three months in length. I submitted the edited version to Viv about the second week of May; then with all the illustrations needed (one per clue and there are 27 clues total, with a couple of extra drawings in there - for illustration's sake) and the layout to be done and the cover and all; submission to printers and waiting for final products to be in hands, you come up right about 3 months in time spent just prepping a manuscript (not including all the time to write, rewrite, revise, edit, and rewrite some more - lol).
So for those of you who wonder why it does take so long to get a book published from the time it is accepted by a publisher, now you know.
Anyone interested in buying a copy, check out
4RV's store. The books have come to 100 pages inside and then covers - so for $10.99 plus shipping, you have a pretty decent sized book. All you who love a bit of mystery, a bit of trivia, a bit of history and a bit of geography all rolled up into one, check it out. - E :)
