I am considering starting to sell book shorts (just like Amazon does) from our network.
At the moment though, we would have an advantage since Amazon is not accepting submissions right now for any new shorts.
There is a fee for this service, I would be charged monthly for the right to sell books (or anything I like) from the right column of the site.
This could be a great opportunity for anyone who wants to sell their short stories for .50 each (again just like Amazon does) in a PDF format (which I can either do for you or you can provide to me pre-formatted for placement.
Advertising your book in this way could help land a publishing contract (by showing proof of sales & marketability of your book), help promote a larger version of your book or even a book series (make a good excerpt or even chapter one a short to entice readers into buying your book), help to bring in revenue for your book to put towards your goals (whether that is self-publishing, subsidy/co-op or promoting a book tour for your traditionally published book).
The possibilities seem endless.
Again I will use Amazon as an example, $.20 of the $.50 goes to the submitter (proof of copyright would need to be shown me if you are not the author before I can place it).
The remaining $.30 will go toward the PayPal percentage & the monthly fee that will be coming from my (WillowRaven's) pocket.
If advertised by you, the submitters, just like you would advertise anyway for your book... this could be ideal... ads that pay you rather than you paying for your ads.
Eventually we can get our own domain & no longer be considered a "ning", and we can pay for a larger bandwidth & more storage capacity.
So my question is, who would be interested?
Let me know in my page somehow...

Yes, I started my company to keep the proceeds in the author's hands instead of the big publishers that keep all the money! LOL I am an author first and work to help new talent get their work out into the world. I have to charge a fee, but I give the author 100 books to begin with so they make their fee back immediately with a profit. I don't make much doing this but what little is left goes right back into the comapny to keep the doors open for more new talent. I am semi-retired so I'm not looking to get rich, just help authors who I believe are good enough to have a book on the market.

Talk to you soon,
